On Sunday, The 6th of July, our star Junior – Ahmed Mohammed – from the Under 13s, played for the Yarra Junior Football League’s representative side versus the Waverley League.
Ahmed – or ‘Blues’ as we know him around the club was presented by a new sherrin, signed by all the North Brunswick players at the senior game on Saturday to congratulate him on his selection and to wish him all the best for the game.
A ‘fan club’ of about 10 North Brunswick players and officials headed out to Bulleen on Sunday to watch the Interleague match – where Yarra Juniors won by 7 goals. ‘Blues’, wearing number 4 for Yarra, was a crucial member of the midfield – and played out the whole game on the ground showing his silky skills and a clean pair of hands.
At one point, we saw ‘Blues’ at his absolute best, gathering the ball on the wing, dodging an opposition player and then delivering to a team mate. Indeed he was up to the challenge in a very high standard junior game and we wish Ahmed all the very best with the rest of his season and hope he continues his already impressive development under the watchful eye of all of those in the North Brunswick Football community.
Well done Blues!
