Club notes are a weekly part of The Eastern Footballer which you can get at the gate every week. Here's a taste of what features for us, thanks to Geoff Newstead.
Our trip to Waverley last week didn’t quite go to plan with a win and a loss. In very cold, blustery conditions the reserves were up against the bottom side and we got away to a good start kicking with the wind and taking a 5 goal lead into the first break. From there we never looked back, going on to record a convincing 51 point win. Matt Peschke found form up forward with 5 majors while Jordy Roth earned his 3rd BOG in the past 4 games. Others in the votes were Higgins, Maxwell, Ward, Downie & G. Morris.
In all five senior Division 2 games last week, the favourites were beaten and we were no exception. Full credit to the Waverley Blues boys who showed greater intensity all game to run over the top of us by 24 points. The one bright spot for the Mustangs was the form of Kid Talevski who added another 7 goals to his season tally and was voted best. Also trying hard were S & J
McManus, Slattery, Georgiou and Musa. On Saturday we host Wantirna Sth at the Heights and both their sides are just outside the top four so we should see some good footy. Make sure
all Mustang players and supporters get back to the club for what should be the highlight of our social calendar, “The Wedding”. It should be a very funny night so don’t miss out. GO MUSTANGS!!
