The Lismore Swans travel to Bangalow for the first time this season to take on the Byron Bay Magpies. This is a must win for Lismore as they have the opportunity to cement a top two spot and gain a double chance coming into the finals.
Lismore were challenged last week by the Nimbin Demons however the Swans stood up to the pressure and were impressive in working the ball from the half backline and winning the centre clearances to drive the ball forward. The run was a key factor in the Swans dominance as the team did not stop running all day. This proved telling when Nimbin ran out of legs in the final term while the Swans maintained a constant running game to kick 8 final quarter goals.
The last time these two teams met at Montimor Oval in Round 9 the Swans commenced the match with goals before a big slump in there game between the second and third quarters. Fortunately the Swans lifted midway through the third term to come home strongly and take the points. This time round it is very important that the team is focused all day and play four quarters of football if they are to be victorious.
Good signs for the Swans this weekend with the return of Angus Legoe, Jake Ryan, Mitch Montgomery, Daniel Flint and Adam Rhodes. The return of these players will further boost the Swans outfit and put more pressure on selection.
All the best to the boys on Saturday, make sure you get down to Bangalow and support the red and the white. GO THE SWANNIES!!!!
