SENIORS
Well, it was a great night at our major sponsor The Epping Hotel where we ahd a huge turn out and a great night was had by all. Albeit a sore head today upon having to now put my thoughts into words!!!
A great Sydney winters day lay ahead of us and with Ressies involved in a cracker match with the Bats ressies, the stage was set for Seniors to take to the field and hopefully pull an upset over the Bats.
With 9 first graders out through injury or unavailability, it was always going to be a big task, however, we still fielded a high quality side which had the skills and guts to take ti to the competition leaders.
As a quality side does, the Bats started well kicking ahead with 4 goals and this continued through the 2nd quarter and being able to establish a 5 goal lead at the main break.
And this is where the Mac Uni spirit kicked in with the boys coming out of the main break with a determination to stand up and be counted. And that they did by stepping up the fight on the park with resilient tackling and a desire to step the match up a notch and shutting out the Bats to a scoreless quarter.
I Thought UTS controlled the game throughout 4 quarters and came out with the points in the end and we were always just off the contest.
To the guys credit after 4 hard weeks the Club is in better shape moving forward as we are really starting to gel together as a team and stay tight. Although fought the game out to the end and all opposition know that they are in for a fight when they play us. The key moving forward is to have 4 quarters like we did the last half against the Bats.

We have all heard it said but a week really is a long time in football. This week we had a complete bench and turning up on time to play Pennant Hills at home.
After a gutsy performance last week there was a real fear with everyone back we would sit back and wait for someone else to do the work but this was not the case. We come out of the blocks fast and managed 11 scoring shots to 0 in the 1st quarter.
Dylan was setting the standard winning plenty of the ball. In the 2nd quarter we started chasing kicks and getting lazy and Penno exposed us but we managed to go into half time with a comfortable lead.
The second half saw us kick 11 goals with Boof & Ossie presenting well up front and Gary & Pooley working tirelessly around the ground, it was good to see the boys not take their foot off the peddle and most guys getting good consistency in their games now which is pleasing to see. We eventually ran out winners by 127 points.
