The Lismore Swans have defeated the Nimbin Demon in a reconciliation match held at the Nimbin Showgrounds by 78 points
The Swans battled out the reconciliation match with great determination to win the ball led by indigenous captain Richard Blundell. It only took 5 seconds for the first goal to be kicked as Tom Morgan tapped the ball to George Massa who drove the ball to full forward where Nick Malone crumbed and goaled.
As expected this game was never going to be easy and the Demons fought hard to stay in the match all day. Nimbin’s small indigenous players proved a handful for the Swans as they dogged there way to kick the next 2 goals. However the Swans are a strong club and commenced there domination with fantastic centre clearances all day giving the forward line first use of the ball.
The Swans kicked 7 in the first term to the Demons 3 however the second was full of waisted opportunities for Lismore as they kicked 4 goals 7 to take a 6 goal lead into half time.
The Swans fought hard in the third to kick 6 and extend there lead to 55 points at the final break. Nimbin fought hard early in the final term before the Swans showed there dominance as they out ran the Nimbin Demons around the ground to kick 8 goals in the final term.
The Swans finishing the game with a 78 point win in a great spectacle. The Swans focus is now Byron at Bangalow this coming week, a win is a must if the Swans want to confirm a top 2 spot. Lismore Swans victorious on the day kicking 25.18-168 to Nimbin 14.6-90.
Goal Kickers included 6 to Wesley Seewald, 5 each to Jason Bevan and George Massa, 2 each to Ben Hughes and Nick Malone, and singles to Simon Howard, Nathan Jones, Jack Hatfield, Dylan Brooks and Lincoln Shinners.
