On Sat, 9 Aug 2008 the Penrith Swans will be holding a Yellow Arm Band Day in an effort to raise much needed funds for male cancer research.
More information regarding this worthwhile cause can be found at: http://www.calltoarms.com.au/
With a full book of games as well as a planned Auskick Gala Day, we hope to raise awareness with all players, officials and hopefully spectators wearing yellow arm bands. Gold coin donations please. Full details regarding the day will be known soon.
The Penrith Swans have also taken the liberty to invite the Hawkesbury Radio 89.9FM http://hawkesburyradio.com.au/ Transmission Van to Greygums on this day. Besides promoting AFL within our region and the Call to Arms day, the Hawkesbury Radio crew will also attempt to call some of the matches over the airwaves - with a little help from Club Officials of course!
It sure promises to be a big day at Greygums Oval. Please lend support where you can. We invite other GSJ clubs to help promote this cause.
Remember one in two men will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85 - it could be you, or it could be your best mate.
