The Coomera Magpies Senior team has bounced back from its’ disappointing loss against Coolangatta by thumping Park Ridge 89-41.
Coomera were dominant from the opening bounce, as they managed to restrict Park Ridge to 0.4 in the first term, and just 0.7 for the half.
The Pies peppered the scoreboard, but missed a number of easy opportunities to hurt the Pirates, finishing with 7.11 heading into half-time.
The Pirates mounted a mini-fightback as Coomera took their foot off the gas after half time, but were unable to make any significant inroads, as the Pies ran out 48 point winners.
Full Forward Brady Riesenweber bagged five majors, while inclusion Matt Hoffmeier provided a strong marking target all day, and finished with two goals.
The win saw the Magpies move closer to 4th spot on the ladder, as Kenmore was upset by Alex Hills over the weekend. They remain one game behind Kenmore, and now three wins clear of 6th placed Coolangatta.
The Pies will look to continue their strong turnaround and will go in favourites against lowly Beenleigh next weekend.
The match kicks off at 1pm on Saturday at Dauth Park.
Go Pies!
