The Crows had 4 teams visit the Kangaroos with the U14s having a bye.
The U10s started off the day and were taken by surprise in the first quarter. The Kangaroos
hit top gear quickly and kicked 4 goals. The Crows competed well for the remaining 3
quarters but could not bridge the gap.
The U11s saw the top of the table clash with both teams being undefeated. The first
quarter was a real struggle for both teams. The Crows had to play some good
football to take a 2.3 lead into the first break. The second quarter was tighter with the
Crows kicking a further 2.1 to 1.2. This had the Crows ahead by 3 goals at the long break.
The 3rd quarter saw the Kangaroos play some great football and pegged by the lead by
kicking 2.1 to 1.2. The Crows had a slight advantage but like last week against the
Lions they needed a super defensive effort to keep the Kangaroos out. The Crows
managed to kick another goal and held the Kangaroos to 3 behinds resulting in a
good win to the Crows.
The U12s had the 3rd placed Crows against the 4th placed Kangaroos. The Crows
soon had a battle on their hands with the Kangaroos scoring quickly. At the end of
the first term the Kangaroos led 3.1 to 0.1. The 2nd quarter saw the Kangaroos
continue with some good football that helped them take a 6.1 to 2.1 lead at the
long break. The Crows tightened up their defense in the 3rd term but could not
narrow the gap with both teams scoring minor points. The last term had
everyone on the edge of their seats. The Crows started to play some
great footy and closed the gap with 4 goals. At the end the Kangaroos
held on for a 2 point win. Well done boys.
The U16s were up against the Kangaroos who a couple of weeks ago had
a convincing win over the Crows. The expectation was to put up a better
contest and come away with a closer game. The Kangaroos scoring was
slowed by the Crows. At the end of the 3rd term the Crows were only
8 goals down and putting in a good effort. The last quarter saw the
Kangaroos get away with a 7 goal term. A bit of a disappointment but
the guys never gave in and they are to be commended on that.
