Stephanie Vick 150 Games KFNC
Stephanie Vick (O’Nial) played her 150th game for the Kyabram Football Netball Club last weekend. Steph, a dynamic mid court player, is renowned for her exceptional skills, athleticism, and explosive power, and her professionalism, determination, and leadership on and off the court.
A product of the Netball Victoria development system, Steph was a member of the 2008 Northern Territory U19 team, and the 2009 Victorian U21 team. Deemed not tall enough to be a defender, she made the move to the mid court. In the Victorian Netball League, Steph represented Ballarat Pride and the City West Falcons, where in 2015 she captained the premiership side.
Steph began playing netball in the GVNL in 2006, as a 16 year old with the Echuca Football Netball Club, before making the move to the Kyabram Football Netball Club in 2008. During this time Steph’s achievements to date include A Grade premierships in 2008, 2011, and 2016, A Grade Best and Fairest 2014, 2015 and 2016, and GVNL Wellman Medallist in 2016. On a number of occasions Steph has also proudly represented the GVNL as a member of the interleague team, whilst also fulfilling the role of team captain.
As a member of the leadership group at the Bombers, Steph’s strong values and leadership skills make her a wonderful role model to all. In her second year as the B Reserve coach, coaching has become a passion for her, as she develops some of the future stars of the Kyabram Football Netball Club.
Congratulations Stephanie, we wish you many more successful years with the Kyabram Football Netball Club.
Madeline O’Nial 150 games KFNC
Madeline O’Nial celebrated her 150th game with the Kyabram Football Netball Club last weekend, fittingly sharing this honour with her sister Stephanie, who also celebrated her 150th game on the same day. Maddie joined the Bombers in 2009 as a member of the 17/Under team, winning the Best and Fairest in 2009 and 2010.
Since 2011 Maddie has been a member of the Bombers B Grade team, and has an ability to play in any position on the court. In 2012, Maddie was given the opportunity to be a member of the A Grade Premiership team. And in 2016, she was a member of both the A Grade and B Grade Premiership teams with the Bombers.
Maddie demonstrates her commitment and dedication to the Kyabram Football Netball Club and her team by travelling from Melbourne each weekend to play. After graduating from RMIT University in 2016, she now works full-time as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at the Austin Hospital.
As well as playing netball, Maddie is also a committed and dedicated netball umpire. Maddie has regularly umpired A Grade for the Bombers since 2009, and also the GVNL finals, including the A Grade Grand Final in 2015. Maddie currently umpires in the Victorian Netball League, and in 2016 she was selected to umpire at the National Netball Championships in Perth. Her umpiring success is something she attributes directly to her mentor, Maureen Gledhill.
Maddie, affectionally known as Goggles, enjoys the friendly and professional culture of the Kyabram Netball Club. The success of the club is something she attributes directly to head coach Belinda Lees, coaches, and the playing group. Congratulations Maddie, we wish you many more successful years with the Kyabram Football Netball Club.
