The Coomera Magpies women flew the flag for the senior teams once again over the weekend, defeating Cooparoo / Yeronga by 13 points.
The Magpies had the run of the play, but struggled to hurt the opposition on the scoreboard, booting 3.9.27 to 2.2.14 for the day.
The win sees the Magpies improve to 4-3 in their inaugral campaign, and move to 5th on the ladder.
They will be looking to upset 2nd-placed Kedron this week at 4:45 on Saturday, at E.K Anderson Oval, good luck girls!
In the men's comp, both teams went down to Kenmore, who used the ball better for longer periods of the game.
The seniors squad came out firing, and held the lead at 1/4 time, and remained competitive to be just down at half time. In the second half though, Coomera couldn't keep up with Kenmore, who eventually won 17.14.116 to 10.17.77.
In the reserve grade, Coomera once again struggled to hold on to posession, with turnovers consistently handing the ball to Kenmore in dangerous spots.
Kenmore capitalised, and made the most of their shots to win 17.7.109 to 4.5.29.
This week, the senior teams are away at Kedron for their round 11 clash. Both Kedron teams have just one win each to their name this year.
Best of luck to all players, coaches, and volunteers who represent the mighty Magpies this week!
