Football-Last round the CFC travelled up to Sea Lake to take on the Tigers. Our seniors jumped out of the blocks kicking five goals for the opening term. The attacking flair came from a solid foundation of tackling pressure and chasing and smothering which allowed us to win the footy and move it through space. Joe Tormey summed up the sides intent in the first term with a goal saving chase and tackle. Aaron Walklate and Mark Vigus continued to lead from the front in the second term as we kicked another five goals. Matt Giri was very dangerous and finished with 6 goals for the game working well with Tom Finlay who presented all day and made space in our attacking zone. SLNT definitely lifted in the second half evidenced by them outscoring us but our early efforts were rewarded and the Navies were able to maintain enough possession of the footy to hold on to 18 point lead at the final siren. An impressive win on the road and an impressive team display by the most experienced Navies down to the youngsters, many of whom have played under five senior games of footy.
An entertaining game of footy in the Reserves helped by the wide spaces at Sea Lake allowing a skilled contest to take place. The first half was evenly matched with Nick McCallum, Jack Thompson and Trent Cossar moving the ball well. We were 12 points in arrears at the main break. SLNT showed their experience on their home ground in the second half and ran away 51 point victors. Nick Byrne, Ryan Moloney, Griffen House and Troy Sait were others to impress the coaches.

The score didn't reflect the game and the boys fought hard for 4 quarters, unfortunately we didn't score and Sea Lake were a very impressive outfit.
The coach was happy with the effort the boys put in, they chased down their man, the onballers ran hard all game but unfortunately we couldn't get the ball into the forward line and score, but an excellent effort nevertheless....
