Despite a healthy turnout for past and present player's day, all three senior Magpies teams lost at home.
The senior men's team more than held their own against a strong Robina outfit, but squandered a number of opportunities in front of goal to hand the Roos a 10.13.73 to 13.12.90 victory.
The women's team suffered a heavy defeat under lights at The Nest, losing to a well-drilled Broadbeach team, who ran out 15.9.99 to 1.0.6 winners.
Broadbeach has been dominant in their division this year, and the lone goal scored by our girls is the only score Broadbeach has conceded all season. Their percentage currently stands at a ridiculous 8766.67%.
Coomera women have plenty to be proud of however, as Broadbeach coaches and officals could see "enormous" improvement in our side since the start of the year. The side will look to return to the winner's list against Coorparoo/Yeronga next Saturday.
Finally, the men's reserves team were ultimately outclassed by the Robina Roos match, losing 5.2.32 to 16.8.104.
The game was within reach heading into the last quarter, but injuries slowed the Magpies, leaving them with no bench, and allowing Robina to double their score in the final term.
Both men's teams will travel to Kenmore next week, which looms as a challenge for both squads, with Kenmore reserves 2nd on the ladder, while their seniors sit one win ahead of ours.
Stay tuned for this week's newsletter, to be uploaded later this week.
Go pies!
