Despite the recent miserable wet weather, there was some good news for the Penrith Swans Footy club with representation from three (3) of our players at the NSWCHS All Schools State Championships completed Thurs, 5 Jun at Bensons Lane.
Penrith had 3 representatives in the Sydney CHS team, namely Jack Ponton, Brad Swinfield and Grady Tapping.
Luck just wasn't on the Sydney team which finished 5th at the carnival. Wiith a little more luck, they could have played off for 1st place but hey... that's footy!
At the conclusion of the tournament Jack Ponton was named best player for the Sydney team and as a result was picked in the Government Schools merit side.
Jack's wonderful performance was also capped off with selection in the NSW All Schools team to compete at the Australian Championships in Melbourne in July.
Congratulations Jack, this is a magnificent achievement. We sure hope that you can continue on your good form in Melbourne.
Thanks to Michael Tapping for providing this news
