Football
Seniors-The Navies travelled to Boort on the 6th of May to take on the Magpies. The first term saw us well committed to the contest but unable to capitilise on our forward entries into the breeze. Boort held a 22 point lead at the first change. We began to get our style of footy going in the second quarter with Jye Sandiford on return from injury and Aaron Walklate winning plenty of ball and feeding it well through the likes of Sam O’Connor, Daniel Thiesz and Lachie Cunningham to produce some attacking footy. This resulted in a 5 goal term and left us only seven points in arrears at the main break. In the second half the efforts were again on display with the backline performing well, led by Kieran Sait, Dean McKay, Josh McKee and Jed Thompson who showed he is more than up to the task of senior footy. Unfortunately our efforts were undone by some sub-par field kicking which resulted in turnovers which the talented Magpies seized upon. We went down by 25 points. Anthony Judd and Lachie Cunningham kicked two apiece for the Navies.
Reserves-Boort had a convincing win over the Navy Reserves last round. Our boys battled hard for the entire contest with Marcus Campbell playing superbly through the middle. Damien McIntyre rucked well all day and took plenty of marks around the ground. Luke Zagame, Nick McCallum and Ryan Moloney also had good performances for the CFC. Unfortunately we couldn’t match the strong Magpies outfit and they recorded an 81 point win.

After a slow start to the day the boys were finding it hard to get the footy out of the packs and get a clear passage to the goals. After the ball seesawing back and forth the boys rallied around each other and were able to keep the ball in their forward line and got over the line by 2 points in a very low scoring game.
