It was certainly a weekend of tight finishes with thrilling matches on the menu at the weekend.
The Under 10's snared a one point victory over St Clair in the opening match at Dukes Oval to keep their third spot on the ladder secure for another week. The Lions led throughout and despite having a 2 goal lead at three quarter time had to repel a late Crows surge.
The Under 11's took on the undefeated St Clair Crows but someone forgot to tell the young Lions who took it to the premiership favourites and fell short by just two points in a game that had the crowd on their feet all match.
The Under 14's also had to take on an undefeated team, this time the slick Camden Blues outfit and although they played hard, could not match the visitors.
Over at Blacktown, the Under 12's fell a goal short of making it three wins on the trot when Quakers Hill Bombers came from behind.
The Under 16's had the bye and retain second spot on the ladder, whilst the Under 18 Penrith Rams put a run of losses behind them to record a comprehensive win over a full strength East Coast Eagles with Lions player, Matty Payne, playing a starring role
