The final scoreline reading, Port Melbourne 16.10 (106) to the Casey Scorpions 10.16 (76).
It was an impressive victory for the Borough considering they were without key position players Dylan McLaren and David Pitt.
Best players for the Borough included forward Adrian Bonaddio (5 goals), ruckman David Fanning (2 goals), midfielder David Spriggs (1 goal), former Seagull Stephen Brewer and former Blue Cory McGrath who provided plenty of drive from half-back.
While for the Scorpions St Kilda listed players Michael Rix (1 goal), James Gwilt (1 goal), David Armitage (1 goal) and Brad Howard (1 goal) were all productive, as well as skipper Kyle Matthews (1 goal).
Meanwhile in the reserves, it was Port Melbourne who triumphed over the Casey Scorpions by a convincing 50 points.
The final scoreline reading Port Melbourne 19.16 (130) to the Casey Scorpions 12.8 (80).
There will be no VFL games this coming weekend due to the State game between the VFL and the SANFL in Adelaide on Saturday but Round 9 of the VFL will resume the weekend after that.
In Round 9 of the VFL, Port Melbourne travel to Tasmania to tackle the Tasmanian Devils in an away game on a Saturday afternoon while the Casey Scorpions take on 2007 premier Geelong in a home game at Casey Fields on a Sunday afternoon.
