After the TAC CUP Boys finished the TAC CUP Girls lined up against each other at 3.30pm to finish off a long day.
The Stingrays Girls, who are defending champions from 2016, never looked out of control against a newly formed Gippsland Power program. The margin was lopped sided, but the game itself has many highlights from both sides.
Stingrays TAC Cup Girls Coach Dee Longwill through the magnets around all day making sure all players were given the opportunity to play multiple roles on the day.
Coach Longwill praised the group saying, “I was really happy at once again the ability of this new group to stick to the structures and play their roles. It’s easy on days like today when we are having most of the scoring to forget about the role you have been given- the girls were great”
She added, “Gippsland’s score didn’t reflect their ability, it will come for them very quickly and were are glad to see female football growing as quickly and professionally as it has…tomorrow we join the TAC Cup 18’s and 16’s boys at the beach to do recovery as one club- our girls are starting to understand it’s not just about playing in a game, it’s about the 7 days prior and after that are really important to play at the ultimate level each week.”
With two wins from two, the TAC CUP Girls sit in second place on percentage but take on ladder leaders this week in the Geelong Falcons in Geelong, again after the TAC CUP game.
