Borough delight in Coburg win

Port Melbourne defeated the Richmond affiliated Coburg Tigers by 39 points at TEAC Oval, winning 24.11 (155) to 15.17 (107).
It was a tight first term where 6 goals were kicked between the two sides but it was the Borough who took a 1 point lead into quarter time.
The Borough came to play in the second term as they slammed on 8 goals to Coburg’s 3, as they took a comfortable 30 point break into half-time.
It was a very eventful third term where 15 goals were kicked between the two sides but the Borough held on to a 19 point lead going into the final term.
But the Borough were able to finish Coburg off after kicking 6 goals to 2, as they took the points to win comfortably by 39 points.
Best players for the Borough included forward Adrian Bonaddio (5 goals), John Baird (3 goals), David Spriggs (1 goal) while ruck duo David Fanning (2 goals) and Dylan McLaren (2 goals) were very productive around the ground.
Richmond listed players Tristan Cartledge (1 goal), Cleve Hughes (1 goal), Cam Howat and Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls (1 goal) were very good while captain Paul Shelton and Fortunato Caruso were quite productive despite the loss.
It was good news for the Tigers in the reserves match earlier where they got over Port Melbourne by 50 points, winning 15.10 (100) to 6.4 (40).
Port Melbourne have the bye next week and play Frankston at home on Saturday, May 3 in a TV broadcasted game while the Coburg Tigers face the Box Hill Hawks at home on ANZAC Day next Friday.
