Hello St Peters FC families,
With the season start quickly approaching, many people are actively working behind the scenes to ensure that our children hit the ground running for what we hope will be an enjoyable and productive football season.
The St Peters Football Club exists purely for the enjoyment of our children and this cannot happen without our many dedicated volunteers. It has come to my attention that many coaches are struggling to enlist volunteers to be assistant coaches, team managers, trainers etc. It is vital that these positions are filled otherwise we may find ourselves in a position where the children are ready to play but the team is not due to lack of parental support. In an extreme situation, teams may have to fold if volunteers can’t be found.
If you have been approached to take on a position within the team, please give it serious consideration. There will be many people within the club to support your efforts and in my experience, you will probably find the experience rewarding and enjoyable yourself.
I urge you to get involved with your team and the club and help make the experiences of our children so much more enjoyable. Without parental support, teams cannot exist and may be forced to fold which would be a devastating position for any of our children to be in and no one wants that to happen.
As SPFC Vice President (Football), I still need to fill a few positions.
We are still seeking an U13 division 4 coach. The boys are already training and we need someone to guide these fine young men to a productive and enjoyable season. The club assist you in any way possible. It is not a requirement to have children in the team.
Additionally, we are seeking 2 coaching coordinators. One to oversee the U8 and U9 boy’s teams and another to oversee the U12 and U13 boy’s teams. The position of coordinator is not a committee position but a football department position working with myself and the other coordinators. It is a direct link of communication between the teams you oversee and the whole football department and ultimately through me to the committee. If you are interested and would like more information please contact me.
If everyone actively volunteers to support their teams and the club, The St Peters Football Club will continue to prosper and be the club against which all other football clubs are measured.
Thanks for your continuing support and understanding.
