The Western Jets scored their 2nd win of the season with tough match against the Sandringham Dragons. The Jets kicked with a fairly strong breeze in the first quarter and managed to go into the first break with a 20 point lead.
The second quarter saw the Dragons come out and take full use of the breeze kicking 6 goals to 1 and taking a 2 goal margin into half time.
The third quarter saw the wind ease off slightly and a more even contest ensued. The Jets midfield started to get on top late in the quarter and kicked a couple of goals to set up a 9 point lead at 3qtr time.
With the wind now almost non existent the start to the last quarter was crucial. The Jets managed to kick the first few goals of the quarter through Nathan Schroder and Bryce Carroll and opened up a healthy 30 point advantage. Sandringham, who had won their opening two matches weren’t going to go down without a fight and came back late in the quarter. The Jets though were able to hold on to a 10 point victory.
