SENIORS won 9-12 to 2-4. Joel Perry did not play, but was the Coach for the day with Harmit in Perth. Forget the one sided score, the game was fast furious with lots of body contact and an excellent practice match. We certainly had to work hard to score and the heat really tested every player. Jake Best was the standout forward, Cam Howat seemed to have the footy on a string all over the ground and Jacob Castricum showed the benefits of his huge pre season with an excellent game in defence. Great to see youngsters continuing to push into contention. Boys like Brook Kainey, Cal Mendes, Ned Coghlan. Nic Minchen and Matty Barnard. Plus the further development of the younger boys from last year like Charlie Young, Sam Wadley and Robbie McComb.
RESEREVES won by a point in the final few seconds. 9-6 to 9-5. This was a very even game all day and the lads helping out from the Under 19’s were terrific. Jason Youssef who has returned to the Club this year had a excellent game and will certainly be great assistance to the many youngster that will be in the Reserves. Dean Williams had the Coaching role whilst Paul Breen was overseas.
UNDER 19’s won 12-7-79 to 4-4-28. Despite a massive change in personnel from the Runners Up team last year, they looked very good showing great speed and quality of ball movement. Coach John Brown should have been pleased indeed.
NEXT SATURDAY we are playing ABERFELDIE at the Keilor Park Recreation Reserve, Stadium Drive.
