As many of you are aware, the playing surface of our football ground is extremely uneven following the 2016 floods and it has been determined that it is unsafe to play competitive games on its current state.
Following meetings with the Rec committee, Pyrenees Shire and the contractor responsible for the rectification works it has been decided that the playing surface will be fully removed and re surfaced. Whilst this is a great outcome for the future and will give us a much better playing surface, it does have a short term impact on our football department.
Works will begin Monday March 6 to ensure the ground will be available round 1 which has resulted in the following:
Tuesday night training will commence at the clubrooms as normal with ball work conducted at the golf course.
Thursday night training venue will be advised in the coming days however may also be the same as Tuesday.
The club is currently in discussions with an alternate training venue once daylight savings finishes which we will advise once confirmed, however this is likely that it will be in Maryborough.
These works also mean our April 1 practice match will transfer to Rupanyup. More details in this regard will follow.
The club apologises for the inconvenience this has caused in the short term, however player welfare is paramount to us all and this will be the best outcome in the long term.
