The Lions 2008 Auskick squad had their first real hitout on Saturday at Dukes Oval. The team again is strong in numbers and it was an action packed and fun filled morning for those that attended. The squad will be at Dukes Oval on most Saturdays and begins at 9:00 AM.
Newcomers are always welcome. Just phone the club or drop on down on Saturday.
Well the official start of the Auskick season couldn’t have started off any better, another sunny day not too warm, not too cold, (just right for footie!!) and 23 fired up Auskickers ready to go!! Every body got their football shirts. Then it was into the drills. We started off with bounces, then kicking (boy do we have some big kickers!) then hand pass, then it was game of roller ball, boy do we have some fast runners and big jumpers!! It seemed like we could get no body out! (or we just might need some more moms and dads watching who gets hit!) Then it was time for a drink break-must keep the water up. After the drink it was into the game! Every body was pumped up! Just like last week the Auskickers brought their skills that they where practising right into the game!!! They were kicking well, making marks and passing. They were really moving the ball around fast and smartly!!! Way to go Auskickers! Then after the game it was watermelon and oranges and then off to the lolly Lady!!
For moms and dads the level O coaching course is coming so I will talk about that more after the next training, and then any body who would like to bring the fruit please let me know. It doesn’t take much about 4 oranges and watermelon. If any of the Auskickers want to try training with the under Tens that is on Wed night at 5pm to 6pm at Dukes Oval.
