What where you doing on a rainy Sunday morning in mid February 2008 at 6:30am?
Well 12 of your colleagues from the NCCUA where at Nobbys Beach in Newcastle registering as volunteers to help with the Weetbix Tryathalon braving the elements.
Terry Godfrey and his wife Dorothy Godfrey, Brian Luck, Tyler Druwitt, Sue Crowhurst, Megan Crowhurst, Sonya Crowhurst, Roger Crowhurst, Plucka, Welshy, GG and the Blind Guy wear their smiles, sporting the latest in fashion apparel for the volunteers at the Weetbix Tryathalon. (See picture for the group photo.)
The group carried age group signs, helped participants through the transition areas, helped pack up and also encouraged the kids to keep going and finish the growling event.
There were approximately 500 kids entered on the day, aged from 7 to 15 years old. To help them on the day, there were approximately 150 volunteers.
For their efforts, the NCCUA volunteers raised $300 from the promoters of the Weetbix Tryathalon.
So a big thank you goes to those people who turned up and gave up their Sunday morning to raise valuable funds for the NCCUA and make the Weetbix Tryathalon a memorable event for the kids participating.
