Former Longhorns player Shaun Reardon has been re-appointed as Head Coach of our clubs Senior side for season 2017.
Reardon a Level 2 accredited senior coach has a wealth of experience coaching at South Toowoomba AFC for numerous seasons at junior and senior level and also at a representative level with the regions representative sides. Reardon was first appointed as head coach of the senior side in 2012, Reardon took the playing group to the Grand-Final the same year and again in 2016. Reardon, alongside club legend Andrew Smith, took the side through an undefeated season in 2016 obtaining the leagues Minor Premiership. Successfully heading straight through to the Grand Final where unfortunate weather conditions played a part and affected the boys usual game plan and structures, unfortunately went down to a strong University side. Can Reardon take the team through to the Grand Final in 2017 and beat the long time curse hanging over South Toowoomba AFC Senior Side?
Shaun's dedication to South Toowoomba is second to none and one of the leading coaches across the AFL Darling Downs competition.
Stay tuned for the announcement of assistant coach to be appointed shortly.
Reardon and the Men's team will commence preseason training on 14 December at 6pm as part of the Club preseason training. If you would like to be apart of the Red and Black men's teams, please email the club at souths.secretary@gmail.com or contact us on Facebook.
