With not many `sleeps' to go before the start of training for the Umpires for 2008, Kerry Lee (pictured) has been appointed as the umpires Fitness Coach for season 2008.
In a move designed to increase the "on feild" fitness of umpires, Kerry has a huge job ahead of her in 2008.
With the increased emphasis on fitness and training attendance as part of the revised competency based accreditation requirements, it was felt there was a need for a dedicated person for this role. Kerry will work with Umpires Coach Roger Crowhurst as part of a cohesive coaching team. "It will be great to have Kerry on board. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the role and will free up my time to focus on specific skills coaching for the group" Roger Crowhurst commented.
Kerry holds a Certificate IV in Fitness and has been involved in exercise and fitness for a number of years, participating in a number of team sports that include Soccer, Touch Football, Volleyball, Netball and Futsal. She has also competed at a State level in Athletics and Cross Country, and at a local level in Novice Triathlons.
Kerry is looking forward to training the Black Diamond AFL Umpires to challenge them and to realise their full fitness potential with the aim to provide variety, fun and excitement in training; passing on her knowledge and passion to others.
