.The feeling on Saturday night was one of, a job well done. With much work to do this season in getting the club back on track in regards to winning games, all concerned were relieved to have finally put the regular season to bed.
Now comes the different task of preparing for finals footy. The mental aspect of the game becomes so critical as it is above the shoulders where finals are won and lost.
This weekend will see our senior team play the undefeated PBC on Saturday at PBC, while our Reserves will face Burleigh on Sunday at Burleigh. Not an ideal scenario for our club, but there is no time to sook or complains about where or when the games will be played. All the focus must be on how to win, otherwise you leave yourself open to a less than except able preparation.
Our Reserves are playing good footy and should be confident regardless of where the game is played. The senior can go into the game after 2 solid performances against quality opposition, and if the morale of the team is anything to go by, both teams with bring their A game to the table on the weekend.
Congratulations to Marto and Sav and to all concerned, but where not finished yet by a long way, and I am confident that there are a few more renditions of the Hornets song to be sung before our season ends.
