Recreational Football is a game played between two teams of eight, with an unlimited number of interchange players, on a field with a maximum length of 100 metres by 50 metres wide. It is a more accessible version of Australian Football that people can pick up and play with only some degree of skill and ability.
It is directly aligned to the traditional game but there is minimal time commitment and minimal risk of injury.
Flag belts are used as there is strictly no contact.
In mixed competitions, teams are required to have a maximum of five male and a minimum of three female participants on the ground at any one time.
The AFL Recreational Football philosophy is to provide a fun, social and safe recreational community experience that encourages participation.
Remember AFL Recreational Football is:
* fun
* safe
* inclusive
* promotes health and fitness in the community
* a socially interactive experience
* a game everyone can play
* an ideal game for companies or social groups wanting to participate in a sporting competition
Arrive with your own team or be allocated a team during the first 2 weeks.
