Tigers hop into deal with the Kangaroos
The Werribee Football Club is pleased to announce that it has come to terms with the Kangaroos for a partial alignment for the next two years. The Werribee Board came to its decision after a revised offer was presented to it and sees this relationship as the best for the Werribee Football Club and for football in general.
Werribee President John Nicol implores all staff, supporters and the Werribee business community to get behind this new partnership.
I feel the board has made the right decision for the future of our club and that was always our paramount concern, the future of the Werribee Football Club. Football is a passionate business and there will be people connected with the club who will have differing views. However, now this decision to align has been made, I urge everybody to get behind the club and STAND TOGETHER".
The football department will work with the Kangaroos and a mini draft will be held between Werribee and the Kangaroos other VFL partner North Ballarat to decide which players are aligned to the two clubs.
Former Werribee Premiership coach Donald McDonald will be one of the liaison people between the two clubs along with other former Werribee premiership players Tim Harrington, Neil Connell and John Lamont.
