The Werribee Tigers continued their impressive start to the TXU-VFL Season with a 91 point mauling of local rivals Williamstown at Chirnside Park on Sunday.
A wild storm came through the ground pre-game, providing some relief from the sweltering conditions, but stopped in the early stages of the first term to allow for a free-flowing game of football.
The Tigers were led by the efforts of Bulldog Sam Power, who collected 40 possessions and was electrifying all over the ground. Fellow Bulldogs Ryan Griffen, Brad Murphy, Matthew Robbins, Steven Koops and Adam Morgan were also prominent contributors and have pressed strong claims for a promotion to the Western Bulldogs' line-up in the coming weeks.
A bright start enabled the Tigers to establish a handy 20 point lead going into the first break - a lead which they extended to five goals at the long change, piling on five goals to three in a tight second term.
Having been dominant all day, a solid third quarter, followed by a blistering nine goal final term provided the springboard for a comprehensive victory over a lack-lustre Williamstown side.
Vice-Captain, James Podsiadly, who chipped in with three goals to add to his tally of eight, said spirits were high and there was a great feeling around the club.
Awesome," he said when asked about the way he thought the team played on Sunday. "We are playing great football and that great thing is that we are enjoying it."
Get out and support the boys as they look to continue their unbeaten run this Sunday against the Northern Bullants at Chirnside Park, 2pm.
