Hawks first hit out full of positives
After 3 months of torture from head conditioning coach Mark Rasmussen, the Tuggeranong Hawks finally got down to the business of playing some football with their first intra-club trial on Tuesday night at Greenway oval. The senior squad was divided into two teams with Kurt Masters leading the "Crows" and Jimmy Rice the "Yellows". The standard of play was good from the boys given the long time between matches and indicates a strong season to come from the Hawks. Particularly impressive performances from Ben Cleaver, Craig Healy, Daniel Johnson and new recruit Al Morris had the coaching staff pleased and show that the Hawks have added a few more weapons to the mid-field armoury for the 2007 season.
This weekend brings the annual TFC camp to Mollymook which this year will include a match against fellow AFL Canberra club Queanbeyan at Hanging Rock oval in Bateman's Bay. The camp will also incorporate the annual "pub to camp" crawl that is sure to occur on Saturday night (from the Marlin in Ulladulla to the camping grounds in Mollymook), and the "James McCabe" dancing contest and "Jimmy Rice" Karaoke contest. All players and officials are looking forward to the events - in particular Andrew "this grass looks comfortable enough to sleep on" Toy. We hope to see you there!!
