The Seniors will be the first to admit that their start to the season has not gone as planned and far from the early season dominance displayed last year. However, with many new players, it was going to take some time for the team to gel together and on the back of a better performance last week, there is sure to be an added confidence that they will match it with the Burleigh Bombers this Saturday afternoon.
Burleigh had a narrow win over the Pumas in a pre-season practice match that saw little between the teams given the players available. Springwood was soundly beaten in the season opener against 2006 Premiers Western Magpies but bounced back to be competitive in their loss to Maroochy Northshore. With many new players, Coaches Troy Moncur & Peter Ryan and Tony Lynn are working to find the best player combination and adapt their game strategies to suit the Pumas personnel this season. The team lists for the game are below in the "Related Documents".
Supporters, Junior players and their parents are urged to get to the game this Saturday with the Reserves playing from noon and the Seniors at 2.00 pm.
Ladies will be welcomed with a "Meet & Greet". Supporters will be able to get to know the new Springwood players over drinks while the Club has also turned on the after-game entertainment with live music. Menzy's BBQ will operate all day and for dinner.
