The Coach was certainly not happy afterwards and let the player loudly know his thoughts. Only excuse was a number of boys were very sore indeed and they had been doing most of the running for three quarters. Our winning margin of 73 points was still the biggest of the senior results.
On the very positive side, Young Sam Wadley played the game of his Vermont career. 35 possessions and three great running goals, he was sensational. It almost looked like we had two players wearing the #25. Liam Buxton was also in the goals and showed his contested marking skills were getting better and better. So handy to have a ruckman going forward and taking those big “ clunk” marks and kicking straight.
The other positive signs for the approaching finals was the form of Cam Howat and Lachlan Carey who both returned to fantastic form Saturday after coming back from recent periods of injuries. Two others of mention were Jake Best with five goals and Ryan Phillips who really enjoyed roaming the field as a relief ruckman and taking some excellent contested marks.
