The entire committee, staff, players and supporters of the Preston Bullants AFC would like to take this oppportunity to congratulate Jay Phelan on reaching the 100 Club Game milestone in the Preliminary Final clash with West Brunswick at Garvey Oval this Saturday 3rd September at 2.10pm.
Our current captain and fearless leader, Jay is an oustanding footballer, and more importantly, a fantastic human being. Jay like most of our boys, commenced his footbll at the Preston Bullants JFC. In 2011 he commenced with the Ammos in the strong U19 team which narrowly mssed the Grand Final. Jay was an integral midfielder in the back to back senior premierships of 2013 and 2014. Due to his strong wotk ethic, professionalism and willingness to do anything for the club and his team mates, Jay was rewarded woth co-captaincy in 2015 and as the sole skipper in 2016.
As a player, Jay is a fair but hard on-baller, who is feared by opposition players due to his tenacity, attack on the footy and never say die attitude. This coupled with his elite fitness levels, proves a headache for opposition coaches each and every week. Jay has hurt the opposition on the scoreboard as well, kicking 48 goals in his 99 games so far. Jay is the ultimate team man, a leader both on and off the filed, and is often the first one to greet new players at the club, or to check up on the welfare of injured players, or even to stay back to help sweep the change rooms, empty the bins or stack away the table & chairs after training or club functions. Jay has also contributed his time and efforts for the previous 2 seasons as the Player Representative on the committee.
Congratulation Jay we look forward to your next 100 games with the Mighty Preston Bullants!!!
