A massive weekend of grand final action for the Rococo Bar and Bistro Noosa Tigers as 5 teams, both senior and junior, attempt to bring home premiership glory.
From the top it all starts with Danny O’Brien’s reserves who have been super consistent in 2016 with their fun and fix it mentality. The Tigers ressies are a huge chance of premiership success after advancing directly to the grand final after a thrilling win against arch rivals Maroochydore in the major semi final. Game is at 11:15am at Moreton Bay with a supporters buses to be organised. Please look at website or ring the club for more info.
Our next Grand Final is David “Tinman” Carroll’s Under 19s Colts who face Palm Beach at Cooparoo on Saturday from 12:30, in what many believe is a very winnable game for the young men from Weyba Rd. Their 2016 finals form has been nothing short of sensational with Jackson Payne and Sammy Fowles absolute standouts. All the best boys, I know your coach is pumped and I'm sure all involved are too.
Next is big Jarrod Westall’s Under 17s who, on Sunday at Maroochydore, play Maroochydore from 3:15 pm (according to the AFLQ website). The Tiger cubs advanced to the Grand Final after a comprehensive preliminary final win over Caloundra at Glasshouse last Sunday.
Our under 13 s are well represented also this Sunday at Maroochydore starting with Butch Smiths much improved Div 2 boys side (including 2 gun girls) facing off against Nambour from 9:30am then our under 13 Noosa Tigers youth girls team playing the very strong and undefeated Northshore from 10 45 am.
It’s Grand Final time and this writer reckons you can toss a coin, however I am pretty confident the Tiger clan will be celebrating this weekend.
Well done to all the Noosa sides in the Grand Final, enjoy the week and I'm sure nothing will be left out there. Go Tigers!
I must mention the AFLQ awards held at the Gabba last Sunday night. Simply put a great night had by all. Ccongratulations to reigning club champ Hick Hill who narrowly missed the senior league medal by a vote and also well done to Ressies star Seb Clift on claiming the leading goal kicking award. A big thanks to Scotty Mckenzie and Rob Purves who chaperoned the night (far too big for this old man) and of course to Tinman who drove us there and back and didn't hit anything.
Massive weekend! Go Tigers! Cheers Pittsy
