Maroochydore has backed up last weeks 3rd grade premiership by qualifying another 3 teams into the Grand Final after a great weekend for the club. The Seniors will face Mayne in a rematch of last years GF, the Colts will take on Southport while the Women will meet either Jindalee or Yeronga on Saturday week.
Quite remarkably 4 out of 5 of Maroochydore's Senior Club's teams will play off in a grand final with the previously undefeated reserves surprisingly the only team not to qualify.
Here's what the Sunshine Coast Daily and President Matt Bury had to say about the win over Caloundra at the weekend......
Maroochydore will meet Mayne for the third time in four weeks on neutral territory, but this time there's much more at stake.
The Roos will be the Sunshine Coast's representatives in this year's QFA North grand final at Moreton Bay Sports Complex at Burpengary on Saturday afternoon, after downing Caloundra at Fishermans Rd yesterday.
The sides will meet in the season decider for the second straight year, with Mayne winning the 2015 decider.
Club president Matt Bury said the focus all year had been making the decider.
"I think any time you get into a grand final is a good feeling, you work all year for it,” Bury said before declaring the side would not use last year's loss as motivation during the week.
"It will be mentioned early but last year was history, we can't change it. All we can do is create our own history next weekend,” he said.
Bury commended the Caloundra Panthers' young outfit who played the game in "great spirit”, despite going down 13.15 (93) to 7.12 (54).
"It was tight up until half-time and could've gone either way,” he said.
"Our boys had a sensational third quarter, a premiership quarter.”
Maroochydore will next weekend look to win its first premiership for the best part of two decades, according to Bury.
Next weekend's game will be the last QFA North decider before the regional competition format is disbanded in favour of a divisional competition.

The Reserve Grade team bowed out of the 2016 campaign, going down to Mayne by 11 points, in a disapointing end to the season which saw the team go undfeated through the Home & Away season.
The Colts booked a Grand Final spot against Southport at a yet-to-be-decided venue following a hard-fought win over Western Magpies on Saturday.
While the Women's side continued their undefeated run to earn a weekend off and advance straight to the GF with a 6 goal win over Jindalee.
