Our season ended with a defeat to the finals bound Skye. The hosts had plenty of incentive as a big win would see them pinch the double chance. It was obvious from the outset that we were up for a challenge. Matt Ork and Jay Dart led the backline superbly. Matt Thompson and Sam Blackburn provided targets up forward as the first half became a tight struggle.
The early loss of Ben Stacey upset our balance and the Bombers pulled away from us in the last quarter. We fought it out well enough to deny them the double chance.
The reserves had a day to forget and will need to regroup before a rematch next week in the qualifying final.
