VALE PHIL EVERETT

Recent sad news was that Phil recently died at his home on the Sunshine Coast after a short treatment for prostate cancer.

Phil joined the South Croydon Football Club as coach of the Under 15’s in the mid 1970’s and the next year coached the Under 17’s.

He also joined the senior committee and was Secretary until August 1978 when he was elected to the Croydon Council.

During the next ten years that he served as Councillor, he was supportive of Club approaches for Council support and also was heavily involved in establishing the Dorset Golf Course. Phil was Mayor for his final year from August 1987-88 after which he retired and shortly after relocated to Queensland.

Both the SCFC and the City of Croydon were beneficiaries of his diligent contributions.
