Well hopefully we do not have a repeat of the weather that was set upon us last weekend ever again!!!!!!!!!!!
For those that saw the NEAFL game at Southport on Saturday afternoon – it was reminiscent of a game of Water Polo.
Anyway last week was last week.
There is a new weekend ahead for us all.
The NEAFL play NT Thunder at Graham Road at 1.30 pm Saturday in what should be an absolute thriller of a game.
History of NT Thunder and Aspley games show that there is not a lot between the two teams.
There is a curtain raiser to the NEAFL game, it is a charity game.
It is called Guns versus Hoses – the Police versus the Firemen and starts at 11.00 am.
Our QFA teams play Moreton Bay at Burpengary on Saturday at 2.00 pm and 11.45 am.
Our Seniors should clock up another victory against Moreton Bay who are the bottom team and not won a game as yet.
The Colts play Wilston Grange at Wilston Grange on Saturday morning at 9.30 am in what should be a very tight affair.
The Women’s team also play Moreton Bay at Burpengary on Saturday after the Seniors at 4.45 pm.
Our Masters teams are back this week playing Redcliffe at Redcliffe the 45s at 1.00 pm followed by the 35s at 3.00 pm.
Have been told that there is a fierce rivalry between these Clubs so both games should be very competitive.
But the story of the week – our Under 15 Girls- as mentioned previously they have been improving week by week and have become much more competitive and narrowly lost their last two games prior to this last weekend.
So the U15 Girls travelled to Mt Gravatt on Sunday morning and won their very first game against Mt Gravatt and they were they excited, yes they were so very excited.
As they are all newcomers this season to the Club they used cheat sheets to sing the Hornets song and did they sing it, they let the whole world know.
Congratulations girls. Well done.
We also must congratulate 4 of our Under 15 Youth players who have made the Queensland U15 Football team, they are:- Adrian Lawrence, Mac Liessi, William Martyn and Kobe Tozer.
Also we have 2 players who have made the Under 16 Queensland team, they are:- Tom Ansell and Nick Smith.
Congratulations to you all, we hope you all have successful representative Carnivals.
Just a reminder to you all that Brendale No 1 our new oval is closed for maintenance work.
That being the case our Under 6 games are being played on the Brendale Cricket oval across the road (north) from our Brendale No 2 ground.
Go Hornets!!!!
