Under 11 Wallabies
We continue our Team in Focus series by taking a look at the impressive season of the Under 11 Wallabies. Undefeated in 7 matches, the Wallabies are enjoying their football so far this year.
Not only are the Wallabies playing with confidence, they’re playing with style as well, scoring close to 50 goals already this season, they’ve got their sights set on getting even better, with the goal of challenging for the Kangaroos league next season, one shared with NPL clubs and some of the best young players around.
Their performances this season have been headlined by a few standout players, Sam’s devastating runs down the line as a winger, Zach’s adaptability, and the goal scoring ability of a whole host of players, head coach Nick has been full of praise for his charges. It’s not all about the boys that are scoring goals though, last year’s player of the season, Kristian, is continuing to impress this season with some outstanding performances, and young Luca is improving out of sight, motivating the team with his energy and enthusiasm.
Nick is confident that his team can keep improving as well, an impressive claim for a side that already looks at the top of their game. “I’m very confident we can continue to develop and improve as we have a great coaching team and an excellent squad,” Nick proclaimed, “The players are starting to grasp the short passing game and their fitness levels are starting to increase.”
If the boys can translate their current form and the general levels of excitement around the training ground into real momentum, they’re definitely going to be able to look forward to taking on the challenges that will come next season. Bigger pitches and faster opponents will be waiting for them, but judging by their progress already this season, they’re going to be more than ready to reach those heights.
Here at Brunswick Zebras we’re very excited as to what the future holds, good luck Wallabies!
