Zebras take the 3 points
In Round 14 of NPL2 West, our boys Moreland Zebras took to C.B Smith Reserve against Ballarat Red Devils.
Earlier this season in our Round 1 opener we were able to come away with a 3-1 win to start our season on the back of a Baggio Yousif hat trick.
Sitting 4 points off the top of the ladder. A victory was desperately in need against a difficult opponent in Ballarat which are well coached by former Melbourne Victory player James Robinson
Our boys commenced the game strong controlling the pace of the game with a few chances but nothing to really give our zebra supporters something to cheer in a goal. As usual the BRD continued to make it hard for us and made it a hard contest.
Half Time 0-0 and we all anticipated for another tough contest in the 2nd half.
Second Half commenced and nothing really changed. A tough contest all around the ground. A few chances for our Boys but once again nothing that was going to make our supporters celebrate a goal.
As the final whistle was getting closer and a few chances going astray, the man from round 1 popped up to clinch that vital goal. Yes Baggio Yousif ….. GOAL GOAL.
Baggio’s goal was enough for us to clinch that desperate victory we all were looking for against a tough Ballarat that will make it hard for many teams in NPL2 west.
