The Veit family has been associated with junior football in Canberra for the last 8 years. Originally joining with the Calwell Swans the Veit’s moved to Eastlake in 2011 with youngest member of the family Mitchell joining the Club’s under 14’s program.

Mum, Lisa has been a volunteer at Calwell Swans being a part of the committee, then upon joining Eastlake become the Division 2 Under 14’s coach. She has played many roles in the Club since then, such as Assistant Coach and Manager Under 14’s Division 1 and Under 15’s, along with being Team Manager of the Under 17’s team as son Mitchell progressed through the grades.
This year she has also assisted the Club’s Junior Football Department with time spent in the office working through the number of junior registrations the Club processes prior to the start of the season. Along with this she also assists each year with the Club junior year book, junior fete day and any other club functions as well the canteen for every Friday night Auskick at Kingston Oval.
She is an outstanding Club person that has put the Club at the forefront of everything she does and goes above and beyond when asked to assist at any level.
Along with Lisa, son Mitchell is always willing to put his hand up to assist wherever he can. A preference to play as much as possible as he has come through the grades, Mitch has been limited to match time due to his talpies (club foot). Mitch is always on hand to assist with Friday night Auskick and on match day if he is not playing, he will be on hand to assist the Coaches with whatever they need.
Father Colin, is always happy to help when he can assisting wherever he can. He also assists by taking the junior team photo’s.
The Veit family is an integral part of any Club and we are proud to have them involved here at Eastlake.
The Veit family’s recognition is part of National Volunteer Week which recognises those who contribute their lives to the community.
