DEAN CALCEDO - 100 CLUB GAMES
The entire committee, staff, players and supporters of the Preston Bullants AFC would like to take this oppportunity to congratulate Dean Calcedo on reaching the 100 Club Game milestone in the Round 6 clash with MHSOB at Ruthven V.C Reserve this Saturday 14th May at 2pm.
What a champion player, and remarkable person!!! Dean is the epitome of the Bullant spirit. The most decorated player in the clubs history, Dean commenced his footbll at the Preston Bullants JFC where he played over 100 games with distinction and was an integral member in a number of premiership teams. Dean played with the Northern Knights in 2008 however walked on them to play with his mates. This loyalty has been the story of Dean's football career to date. Dean was a member of the inaugural Preston Bullants AFC (formerly Northern Bullants AFC) team in 2009, and won the U18 club and VAFA League B&F in 2010, before heading off to Forrest with a handful of mates to play footy. In his first season of senior footy, Dean won the 2011 Mahoney medal (CDFL League B&F) and in 2012 was a crucial part of their last premiership team. Dean then returned to the Bullants (formerly Northern Blues) in 2013 where he co-captained back to back senior Premierships in 2013 & 2014. Dean also won the Bullants senior B&F's in 2013 and 2015 and was a joint winner of the Fullerton medal (VAFA Div 2 League B&F) in 2015. Dean currntly holds the record for the most senior games played with our club, notching up 63 this weekend.
As a player, Dean has few peers. He is highly skilled, ridiculously elusive, outrageously courageous, hugely unselfish, tough as a cats head and deceptively quick with his hands should the need arise. Dean is the perfect example of someone you would want in the trenches with you. Despite his extraordinary footballing ability, Dean has always shown loyalty to his mates and club and has regularly knocked back lucrative offers from other clubs. He is the ultimate team man, a leader both on and off the filed, and is often the first one to greet new players at the club, or to check up on the welfare of injured players, or even to stay back to help sweep the change rooms, empty the bins or stack away the table & chairs after training or club functions.
Congratulation Deano, we look forward to your next 100 games with the Mighty Preston Bullants!!!
