Match Review Highlights - Nodders go top with 48-point win over Old Ivanhoe - Reserves win by a whopping 158 - Under 19s fall 15 points short in top-of-the-table clash - Colts down by 23 points Match Reviews Mazenod faced Old Ivanhoe on Saturday, with both teams entering the match undefeated. The Nodders were on top from the outset, trailing by just five points at quarter time, despite kicking into a 4 to 5 goal breeze. Mazenod attacked relentlessly to open the second, but Old Ivanhoe held firm. However, Kieren McKeogh and Ben Phibbs broke the game open in the middle part of the quarter with two goals apiece and the Nodders took a 35-point lead into the long break. Old Ivanhoe made an impact in the third, reducing the margin to 13 points at the final change. It was enough to give them some confidence at three quarter time, particularly given that they had come from behind to win each of their first three games of the season. Fortunately, Mazenod was up for the challenge and when BOG, Brad Kovac, marked strongly and converted from 45 metres, the flood-gates opened. It was another tough effort from the Nodders who continue to impress with their physical pressure. The usual hard nuts, Steve Welsford, Tim bourbon and Stu Ingliss were brilliant around the stoppages all day, while Tom Mckenna was unbeatable in the one-on-ones. It sets up a huge match against flag favourites, Peninsula, this week. Mazenod OC 1.2-8 7.8-50 8.10-58 14.16-100 Old Ivanhoe 2.1-13 2.3-15 6.9-45 7.10-52 Goal Kickers: B. Kovac 2, T. Cincotta 2, B.
