Last week we had Sea Lake Nandaly travel down to Charlton Park in what was an enjoyable day for all. Our footballers earned 3 out of a possible 4 wins on the day. The Seniors were able to run out 33 point winners over a strong finishing SLNT. Luke Kyriakides was involved all day while Nicolson again impressed around the ground. Sam O’Connor, Luke Mulquiny and Zane Sullivan all played well while Joe McGrath kicked eight majors for the Navy Blues.
The Reserves continued their undefeated run also with a strong performance against SLNT. Joe Tormey again led from the front through the middle. Damien McIntyre played well in the ruck while Danny Wright, Matt Noonan and Jye Sandiford in his first game for the Navy Blues all put in strong performances. Nathaniel Holmes Brown again stepped up after playing juniors and kicked 8 goals in an outstanding effort.
A cracking see-sawing game was played between the Charlton and SLNT Under 16’s. Only one point separated the sides at the last change before the Navy Blues were able to kick away late and secure a six goal win. The match was a highly skilled and entertaining affair. Kyle ‘Spider’ Webb was named best for the Navies and he was well assisted by Jasper Walsh, Matt Sarre, Nathaniel Holmes Brown, Griffen House and Anthony Miller in a very strong team oriented performance which would have pleased coach, Dooley Thompson.
The Under 13’s were out muscled by their larger SLNT opponents on this occasion but as usual the junior Navy Blues gave a four quarter effort. Pat Sait, Bailey Dixon and Pat Soulsby all continued their good form while Cooper Boyle and Jackson Zagame were also adjudged to be in the best on the day.
