Hi All,
The day is finally upon us and we are very excited the season launch of the inaugural Youth Girls Western Sydney AFL competition is this Sunday! Thankyou to all of you for your hard work and persistence in getting your girls teams up and running and ready for this day.
A few housekeeping issues first that each team needs to be aware of:
- Teams are asked to stay for the whole day – we have key speakers and events and activities running throughout the day that the teams and families are encouraged to take advantage of. As per the attached run sheet, the day will consist of a multitude of activities including a practice game ahead of your scheduled Round 1 matches on the day.
- Every team will need to supply at least 1 goal umpire so please ensure you have a couple of parent volunteers ready to go!
- U15 Youth Girls Rules are again attached for you and your teams reference.
- Remembers the U15s Youth Girls is a competition age group and as soon as the competition matches commence, all AFL Sydney Juniors policies and bylaws must be adhered to, so please come prepared.
Teams are asked to arrive at 9am so please make sure your coaches and managers know this and are reminding the girls to arrive on time so the day can run according to schedule.
There will be a BBQ with food and drinks on the day as well as a complimentary glitter tattoo and popcorn van and a pink themed food corner so the girls are encouraged to take advantage of this and spend some more time together bonding as a team and celebrating female footy!
This day is shaping up to be a very big, successful launch to the youth girls season, so make sure all your girls are attending and spreading the word amongst their families and friends for this historic occasion in Western Sydney.
See you on the day!
Kind regards,
Sophie Mckibben
