Though emerging with a 4-2 loss against East Bentleigh, the boys put in a solid effort and played exactly as the coach instructed. Despite not getting the rub of the green with a couple of decisions the boys had enough chances to secure victory but they were not taken. The scorers for Gippsland FC were Cory Johnson and Jordan Hathaway.

The boys recorded their first win of the season with a decisive 4-1 win against Brighton SC. Gippsland FC dominated the game early, playing some good football on a perfect surface. The boys went into half-time with a 1-0 lead thanks to a 25 metre screamer from Jarrod Ross.

The boys continued their good form after the break and Adam Semple doubled the lead from the spot. A brief period of dominance from Brighton saw them miss a penalty then score to make it 2-1 but the boys regrouped and rounded off the game with a half volley to Blake Zimora and a second goal from Ross. Overall, it was a very good team performance with all players contributing to the result.

Last week comeback winners faced league leaders, Casey Comets this week. Casey applied pressure from the start and the boys made some basic errors, gifting Casey two goals from set plays.

The second half started encouragingly but an unfortunate own goal knocked the boys confidence and Casey scored another three times to make the score 6-0. The Gippsland boys stuck to the game plan and in a switch of play scored with Jack Walton tapping the ball into the net after some good approach play. The final result was a 6-1 win for Casey.

The boys are improving, played hard through to the very end and there were glimpses of what they can do if they work together.
