When Did You Start Umpiring: 1987 with the RFL
What Made You Give Umpiring a go: I just wanted to be involved in the game and since I was moving around a lot it just made sense to bet into umpiring. I have never looked back.
What Do You Enjoy Most About Umpiring: To pin this to just one thing is hard so I’ll have to say meeting new people in all different locations around Australia that I have umpired in.
Highlights Of Your Umpiring Career: This would have to be being named in 2012 as Townsville AFL Umpire of the Year.
Best Umpire You’ve Umpired With: I would have to say Duncan Potts from the RFL – old but wise.
Funniest Umpire You’ve Umpired With: Without a doubt Joseph O’Brien, I was have a laugh before the game, sometimes during and definitely post game.
Have You Umpired Previously Before Joining The NCCUA, If So Where: RFL twice, Farrer, Hampden, AFL Queensland twice.
Any Pre-Game Rituals/Superstitions: An hour before the game I will always have a red apple (only red) and as for superstitions I will wear the same socks all season round (yes washed).
Favourite Music: Country Rock
Favourite Food/Drink: Anything cooked on my Webers and Tooheys New
Favourite TV Show/Movie: Grill Masters for TV and Nacho Libre, always makes me laugh.
If I was stuck on an island with three others they would be who and why: My wife Rachelle because I have spent more time away during our marriage then being at home. My two grandsons because I just don’t see them enough.
