An under manned Saints outfit, missing almost a third of their side, have recorded one of the Clubs most famous wins over their arch rival in a rugged affair on Saturday.
Led by Darren Pithers in the ruck, focal points Justin Pay & Mike Gould up forward and first year player Jake Cannon, an inspired Saints upset last years Grand Finalist 11.19.85 to 9.19.73
Trailing for most of the game, the Saints hit back hard in the third term kicking three goals into the wind while restricting the home side to one. They then dominated the last quarter kicking four goals to two to seal a memorable win.
Luke Selig once again posed a threat in the mid field putting his body on the line while Captain Sam Kimmince repelled numerous Kangaroos forward thrusts. Beau Coles played his best game for the year, providing plent of run from the backline
The win was made even more spectacular with the Saints missing a number of key players including Damon Harrison, Chris Whitton, Pete Dunlop, Lachie McDonald, the Cosgrove twins, Toby Tollis & Richard Wilson.
Inverell now face the Suns in Moree this Saturday
