Gippsland FC Boys to play Skilleroos
The Gippsland FC U13's boys will play the Skilleroos in a practice match at Darebin on Wednesday 6th April.
Players selected for the Skilleroos are considered the best of the best in their age group from around Victoria. They train in a full time program 3-4 times per week and also play on weekends in the U14 NPL competition so it will be a great learning experience for our Gippsland boys.
One of the Skilleroo players will be a familiar face to some of the Gippsland players. Blake Cornelis was the goalkeeper for Gippsland's U13 boys team last year. Blake had a fantastic year & deserved his spot in the Skilleroo's team this year. This shows what can be achieved with a lot of hard work. Hopefully this will inspire other junior players from the Gippsland region.
Gippsland FC coach Taner Tekin said that the players & himself are very excited about the game & it will be a great experience for them all
